Peppermint essential oil is Mentha x piperita, one of the oldest European herbs used for medicinal purposes. One 15-ml bottle of Peppermint essential oil is created by steam distilling 1 pound of the leaves and flowering tops of the peppermint plant.

Our family uses peppermint essential oil in these ways.
- for pain relief
- for an energy boost (put one drop of peppermint in one palm and one drop of orange essential oil in the other palm, rub hands gently together, tent over the nose and mouth and breath in)
- for food flavouring (white label-“plus +”-Canada or “vitality” oils-USA) a little bit goes a long way, great in brownies 🙂
- in the diffuser, you only need about 4 drops
- in our seasonal roller-this was an aha moment for us!
Remember, as with all essential oils, start very slowly, more is not always better. Be sure and check out our essential oil safety page before using essential oils.
